Prepare one tailored application and a simple follow-up record.
Check fit and legitimacy first
Read the full listing and independently check the employer. Confirm that applicants based in the Philippines are eligible, the schedule is workable, and you meet essential requirements. Look for the actual application deadline and channel. Do not assume every “remote” role is worldwide.
Separate non-negotiable requirements from preferred skills. You can apply with some preferred gaps, but describe them honestly. If compensation or work arrangements are unclear, prepare a polite question. Pause if the process asks you to pay to unlock a job.
Connect two needs to two examples
Choose the employer’s two most important tasks. For each, find one real example from your experience or a clearly labelled practice sample. Move relevant résumé points near the top and remove distractions.
A short message could say: “Hello [team], I’m applying for [role]. In [real context], I [relevant task]. I’ve included [sample or résumé] showing [relevant skill]. I’m available [accurate hours and time zone]. Thank you for considering my application.” Replace every bracket and follow the requested format.
Do a five-minute sending check
- Use the correct role title, recipient, subject line, and file format.
- Answer each requested question directly. Respect word limits.
- Test attachment and portfolio access without exposing unrelated personal files.
- Remove placeholder text and confirm the message names the right employer.
- Keep private IDs, bank details, and passwords out of an initial application.
If a task is requested, clarify the time expected and how the output will be used. A large unpaid project or repeated requests for usable business work deserve closer review. You may decline work that feels disproportionate or unsafe.
Track the application and move forward
Record the employer, role, original URL, date sent, version of your résumé, contact, and next step. VeeAys My Jobs can help you keep a record; marking a job as applied does not submit an application to the employer.
Follow the employer’s stated timeline. If none is given, one brief follow-up after about a week can be reasonable; avoid repeated messages and respect instructions not to follow up. Keep applying to suitable roles while waiting. No reply is frustrating, but it is not a reliable measure of your ability.
Your quick checklist
- Verify the employer and read the full instructions.
- Connect two real examples to the role’s tasks.
- Check attachments and record the date and next step.
